Instagram is simply a service that combines photo sharing with social networking. It enables users to upload pictures, apply digital filters to them and share them on social networking services, such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr. Your followers on Instagram can Like and comment on your photos.
It’s a fast, beautiful and fun way to share your photos with friends and family. Unfortunately, the Instagram app is currently only available for Apple and Android devices as at the time of publishing this post. There is no instagram for blackberry app nor Instagram software download for PC.
Though you can log in to Instagram website on your PC, you cannot register nor upload photos, unless you use the Instagram mobile app. Nevertheless, there are now workarounds that let you upload Instagram photos from your desktop computer which include the use of dropbox, bluestacks app emulator and Gramblr deskptop app.
The dropbox trick involves you moving your photos into a dropbox folder after installing app on your PC. Then, access the folder on your smartphone's dropbox app, from where you can then share to Instagram. This seems more of photo transfer to me and not a trick to upload photos directly to Instagram.
The solution that worked for me easily is the use of Gramblr app. I successfully used it to upload this instagram photo to my account.
How Does Gramblr Works
- Download Gramblr's photo uploader zip file to your PC and unzip it
- Launch the .exe file
- Sign in to Instagram
- Choose the photo you would like to upload
- Hit Upload
- Add and save a caption
That's all.
You can then go login to Instagram, click on your profile, to view the photo.
NOTE: If Gramblr throws an error telling you your picture is not in square dimensions, read: How do I make a picture exactly the size I want?
