A Nigerian rising star, Victor Oladipo has won the Eddie Sutton Tustenugee Award, an annual award given to the best basketball player who best exhibits the traits of tenacity and unselfishness.
Oladipo is an American professional basketball Point guard with the Orlando Magic of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
He was selected for the award by a national panel of Tulsa Sports Charities and it will be presented to him August 14 during Tulsa Sports Charities Legends in Sports Dinner at the Southern Hills Marriott.
Oladipo, the only son of his parents, was born May 4, 1992 by Nigerian parents. His mother, Joan Amanze Oladipo and father, Christopher Oladipo, left for United States in 1985. There in US, Oladipo developed a strong passion for basketball. Later on, he joined a club from where he became a member of the NBA, playing for Indiana, where he set a single-season record.
He's an inspiration to us all and we are proud of him unlike Abdulmutallab
