Funke Akindele: AFTER making threats of taking blogger, Linda Ikeji to court over publishing a story insinuating that her marriage had collapsed, Nollywood actress and celebrity Funke Akindele, popularly known as Jenifa, finally admitted penultimate weekend that actually, announced the break up in her marriage to property mogul Kehinde Oloyede. The marriage which was celebrated elegantly in May last year lasted for just 14 months.  Announcing the painful news, Akindele said that after due consultation and consideration, she’s now separated from Mr. Kehinde Oloyede as his wife. With the announcement, Funke Akindele now joins a growing number of Nollywood actresses whose marriages collapsed after a short while.

Ngozi Ezeonu: After a being married since 1994, actress Ngozi Ezeonu exited her matrimonial home alleging infidelity on her husband’s side, self –centeredness, dishonesty and insensitivity. She also complained of heavy harassment she’s been getting from her husband’s younger ones, especially the ladies among them,

Laide Bakare: Walked out of her marriage of three years to her husband, Mr. Okunfulire, after denying that there were cracks in her matrimonial home.  
Eucharia Anunobi: Eucharia Anunobi, who is now a pastor, called it quits with Charles Ekwu, the father of her son, Joshua, a few years after they got married. Eucharia said constant battery by her husband is the reason she pulled out of the union.

Shan George: At the tender age of 15,Shan George got married and after bearing two kids, she walked out of the marriage at 21, alleging that her husband couldn’t send her to school but rather turned her into a punching bag. After she graduated from the University of Lagos at the age of 29, she has tried to get married on two occasions but all to no avail.
Monalisa Chinda: Monalisa Chinda accused her ex-husband, Dejo Richards, of battery and she moved out of her matrimonial home. The union was blessed with a daughter.
Kenny St. Ogungbe: From the day it was announced that they were getting married, there speculations started coming in about the lifespan of the marriage. Not a few people opined that they were dreadfully incompatible, Eddy sang hip hop while his wife to be was a known Gospel musician. It was a marriage most people never gave a chance.  
Hilder Dokubo: Her nine-year-old marriage to screen writer and director, Akaroese Mrakpor, ended quietly in 2008. After this, the Rivers State-born actress, who was also a special adviser on youth matters to former governor of Rivers State, Peter Odili, seemed to have faded into oblivion. Though her ex has remarried, Dokubo has since moved on, having little or no time for social activities.
Foluke Daramola: The actress was married to Tunde Sobowale, son of former Lagos State Commissioner of Education, Professor Sobowale but the marriage did not exceed a couple of years. She accused her husband of beating her

Kate Henshaw: Star actress Kate Henshaw Nuttal,and her British husband  of 12 years, Roderick James Nuttal  parted ways amicably   following ‘irreconcilable differences”.  The couple’s lifestyles made it impossible for them to enjoy marital bliss.

Steph Nora Okere: Before the marriage eventually packed up, it had been trailed by rumours of break-up which was denied. There were rumours that Lanre, her ex-husband was having an affair with a certain lady in England but Steph kept telling all those who cared to listen that she was still in her husband’s house. She, however, got to know of the affair when she visited him in the UK as she saw things for herself. She thereafter moved out of their matrimonial home. She described her time with Lanre as a “marriage in progress” that did not work.
